New Room

After my moldy problem my boyfriend found a new place for me to move into. Yey, I escaped from mold and didn't die! So I guess its finally about time to show of my new beautiful, almost mold free room.Yes, I did just discover some mold in my new room also, I think I'm under a mold curse. But thank god its very little, so I think it will be no problem to remove.

My new room cost the same as my last place. Biggest difference is that this is not a livingtel, which is one small room with bathroom inside. I now live in a hasukjib, got my own room, share bathroom with 2 other females on my floor, and I get two free home cooked meals a day in the livingroom in the floor downstairs. So getting two meals a day for same price is a quite nice deal for me when I'm a poor foreign student. It's breakfast and dinner. But I never go for breakfast because A) Im lazy, and B)I would reather sleep longer and do my makeup than eating downstairs. But I do eat dinner there.
I can come and eat dinner whenever I want to around dinnertime, I always go there around 6 to eat. But its some awkward because I'm always the only one who goes downstairs to eat around that time, so It's me alone with the older female running this place. And when my korean is not really professional, and she can't speak english either, we can't really speak with each other as much as we want too. But except from that small problem, the food is great and she is super kind. No complains at all.

And now for the photoes of what a hasukjib looks like:

My bed. Lot bigger than my older bed! I got the bed from my boyfriend, and my chair also, and the mirror. He actually lived in the floor downstairs, but moved out after a week after I moved into this place. So thats why I got his stuff.

And my desk area, and you can also see where I hang my clothes. Notice the big window, Before I had no window big enough to even look outside. My room actually looks smaller in this picture than in real life. And I have also change the order of the things in my room. Now I got a second white desk beside mine, for my boyfriend to come and study at together with me.

What a normal dinner here looks like. Mostly some soup with meat, potatoes etc. And ofcourse rice and alot of side dished.

The outside area of my place. This is street with different stores or eating places, maybe 5 minutes from my place.

Right outside the buildning where I live. A long hill where I walk down to get to super markets or eating places if I fancy something different than what I get here.

And this buildning is my home! Very quiet area. Perfect for me who loves sleeping and easilly wakes up by even small sounds.

Thats my new place. Would reccomand everyone to find a hasukjib if wanting homecooked meals everyday for a cheap price. Could be hard to find when most hasukjibs don't have any webpage etc when most owners are older females with the sane age of your grandma. But hasukjibs are mostly easilly seen at most university areas at almost at every corner. Just look for a sign that say 하숙집, and there you have it.But bring a korean friend if you are looking, they mostly don't speak english, so would be very useful!!

Looks better than my old one right? :)

Having a......Moldy problem

Found a hugh problem in my room, a well hidden problem I've not noticed before now. For some weeks my room have had this weird smell, like the smell of old food or something. But I know I always throw my food when im finished eating if I havn't ate all and I don't keep old food in my super small refridgiator when its out of date. So I been wondering where this mystic smell has come from.. And I found the reason:

And this is the reason. Alot of mold under my bed! I have no clue why I have not noticed before now, I guess because most people don't stick their head under the bed often, at least not me because I got a big head, my hugh head is not supposed to be under my bed. But after this, I'm sure I will start looking under my bed often for the next 60 years to come. But my bed has not gotten moldy yet, thank god. So I have used all my force to drag my bed as far from the wall as I could. I don't wanna sleep close to this rotten mold monster. God knows what illness I can get from breating and sleeping close to this mold everynight.
Something is sure, tomorrow I will try mold remover product, and next month I must find a new place to live.

Worlds slowest update ever

Just wanna inform you all Im not dead. Im alive even if I dont update my blog often! School life is seriously crazy, I end up studying to late night every day. Lack of sleep makes me too tierd to blog, and not to mention my skin have become bad also because of stress and little sleep. But thankfully, its only 4 weeks left to I have winterbreak. Its super long, like 3 months!! What will I do for 3 months hmmm. No clue! Maybe I will actually miss all the hard school work, but my skin will be more happy!

To remember what Ive dont the past month,I must look at my phone, because I mostly take random pictures of things when Im outside.
Let me share with you:

Psy concert at City Hall:

I went with my bf to watch Psy's free concert at City Hall. It was so many people, but it was really fun! I love concerts, and I love free stuff. So this was perfect.

Video from the concert. Alot of people right???

                                                            Seoul Firework festival:

Went to this year Fire work festival together with Ingrid and two of her female friends. I guess I dont need to tell what a fire work festival is, its a festival with firework looool.
Its popular among families, and its in a hugh park along the Han river. So people who come early enough can be lucky to find a free spot to sit down and do some picnic. We were one of the lucky onces who got a place to sit. On the subway stop closest to the park Police men shouted in speakers what direction to walk, because it was expected to come 100.000 people to the park. So guess we were lucky with finding a place to sit.

Photo of me sitting on out picnic blanket.

Fire work start. Yey ~~

On the subway home. It was crazy. Never seen so many people in one place. It takes usually 2 minutes walking from the entrance to the trains, but it took us 40 minutes to the train! It was like traffic jam with people. Not to forget to mention people was dripping sweat all over, so nasssty

Shopping Mall and Dining out with my Bf:

Halloween Party:

Went to halloween party together with Ingrid and Mari. Like a norwegian girls night out in Hongdae. This picture is taken in Dongdaemun toystreet, where I went to buy black angelwings for my outfit

Found this cute store that sold many different wings. Found hugh black wings for my costume. It turned out quite well together with a black top, a black frill skirt and heels. But I didnt take any pictures, stupid right??

Cinema:

Went to watch Paranormal Activity 4. My bf dont like horror movies, but went with me anyway to watch the newest PA movie. It was the premiere night, 2 at night, but we were the only onces watching!! So had the whole room alone. So you can see me being forever alone in this picture

Cool right?

Random foods like always:

With Rob and Grace at a coffeeshop after school. Ate cake yummy!

With my bf some weeks ago. Enjoyed a meal and some drinks.

My lunch at school cafeteria. The chicken was not that good. My school has so many cafeterias, tried out this one last week. Must say the other onces Ive tried has been better

Flower shop:

Robert bought roses for his girlfriend, so I joined to help him pick them out. So sweet!

Getting ready for winter:

Bought a cute winter coat. But dont think it will last long, allready feel cold when I wear it, and its not even at the coldest yet he he he

Watching a play:

My bf bought tickets to bring me to watch a play. But it was only in korean, but it was okay because my bf translated the most important parts for me. And I could also understand much of what they said, so I really enjoyed it. It was so fun!!!

Making kimchi:

My bf told me his ideal girl is someone who knows how to make kimchi. So to show him what a serious gf I am, I signed up for Kimchi classes at Kimchi Academy in Myeongdong. It was actually quite fun making kimchi. I went there with Grace, and we were the only 2 doing the class. So got a private cooking class for only us. We signed up for class in english, but the instructor had quite poor english. So we did it mostly in korean, which was fine. It was fun, will surly make try making more kimchi again in the furture.  And oh, my bf loved my kimchi and said it was really good. So it was worth taking the classes seeing him enjoy it.

Getting pandabear:

Went with my bf to the cinema to watch the movie TED. He bought me a cute pandabear and gave me. I love pandas <3333 p="">

Also got more cool updates, but will tell about them in my next blog update! :D

Princess diary Cafe

Me and my classmate Grace from Singapore decided to do something fun together during Chuseok (Korean thanksgiving day). Its a holiday where most koreans celebrate together with their families, and they go back to their hometowns. So did my boyfriend. Therefor I had no plans for almost a week, which was the time we got off school to celebrate. As one of my friends said "being a foreigner on Chuseok is like being single on valentines day". And Its so true! You know all koreans eat awesome foods with their family, while you have no family in Korea. Just like being alone in valentines right?

Therefor me and my friend wanted to check out a cool cafe together. Princess Diary Cafe near Ehwa Womens University. Princess Diary Cafe is a cafe where you can dress up in wedding clothes (oh yes, every females dream cafe!). They got clothes both for females and males, so if you actually can force your boyfriend to go there with you, good job!

The cafe is alittle pricy (of course). First you need to buy something to drink, can choose between tea, coffee, milkshake and so on. And then you get told to sit down and relax and drink your refreshment while waiting for your turn to try on a dress. The location is not superbig, so all cant try on at same time. They have many different wedding dresses to choose from (both long and short wedding dresses), korean traditional dresses also. You rent the dress you pick for an hour, and you get charged if you use it more than one hour, but they will tell you when its time to take it of,so dont worry. Renting a dress cost from 10,000 won to 35,000 won depending on the style you want. I choose the biggest dress I could find, so mine was ofcourse a little expensive.

When you have choosen your dress and when its your turn, the staff will help you to put it on. I was so happy that I could keep my jeans on while putting it on, dont wanna put it on just in my underwear infront of my female friend and female staff. Im shy, ok?
And if you dont have matching bra, dont worry, they even put a bra on you which is stropless. It amazed me how the staff knew my bra size just looking at my breasts??. Also they have high heels they make you wear, and they didnt even ask for my shoe size, and this time it was right size also! Weird right?

So after putting on the dress, you get one hour as I allready said, to take as many pictures as you can! And if you have forgot your camera, they actually have camera for rent there also.
You can put on many hair accesories also, like pirat hat, normal hats, big hair bows, tiara, you name it! They also got gloves, and plastic flowers too.

Let me show you my pictures I took at the cafe:

Some of the wedding dresses you can choose from in the dressing room

I chose milkshake while my friend chose rose tea

Pictures of people in their dresses inside the little house where we got our drinks

Me sitting infront of makeup mirror which you can use to put on tiara infront of.

A pic of my whole wedding dress I had on. And of course bunny ears, I love bunny ears!!!

Another pictures that is takes infront of the makeup mirror. I love the wall by the way

They also had a piano to take pictures with, cute right? Wish I could play piano! Todays random funfact.

Isnt the dress hugh?! It was so heavy I swear, But in my real wedding someday, it will be bigger! Ooh the pain.

The door in the background is actually the toilet, which you will get asked to use before putting on the dress.

I didnt actually mean to close my eyes, but I did. It looks like I really enjoy it, right?

I dont really look good in this picture, but the background is cute, so have to show it anyway.

So what do you think, would you go to a wedding cafe?
Actually what surprised me alot is that many brought their boyfriend there. I thought it would only be females there, but I was wrong.

Anyway, If you want to check it out and dress up in pretty clothes and take alot of pictures. Take subway line 2 (green line) to Ehwa womens university stop, Take exit two and walk down the mainstreet and turn right when you see starbucks. Then you will se a big sign that say Dress cafe, wollaaa you found it!!!

Now its time to get back to homework, teacher has given us homework to read a 100 pages book by tomorrow, and watch a 1 hour debate on youtube about free will...Oooh life is great as a student right?

Things I've done beside school

This is yet again another short update. As yesterday I'm writing this when I'm suppose to be sleeping. Its monday, so its school tomorrow, and now the clock is soon to be 1AM (01.00). But because of studying I havnt been able to go to bed yet.

Anyway, over to the reason why I'm actually blogging in the middle of the night... Tell you about my two last weeks beside school.

I've been quite busy everyday with alot of study after school. But because I think I'm doing such a great job with being a hard working student I'm allowed to take some days off just having fun times with my friends.

Some of the things I've been doing (Which I got pictures of):

Global Student Union Club Meeting

Went to korean bbq together with the club I signed up for. Club for koreans to meet foreigners and foreigners to meet koreans. Its meeting every friday. But I've only been to once this far. This was my first friday at school. It was an "get to know each other" meeting. Involving eating and drinking, welcome to university student life!!!

After eating korean bbq we went to a bar located not too far from where we ate. It was very fun and I met alot of other students from different majors. And many were foreigners. On campus I dont really see foreigners too often. So being able to hang out with some was very fun.

The night involved drinking alot of beer, and soju (korean alcohol). Koreans are so good at different drinking games, which are very fun but complicated.
My classmate Grace which I went there with left home more early before me because she was tierd and must get back to her dormitory before midnight. So I went to another place to eat chicken with two other students, A guy from US and one from Turkey. Think I went home around 4AM, and took a taxi because its was raining so badly!

Piano Paradiso concert.

The day after, on saturday I went together with Seul Gi to Seoul Olympic Park to see Piano Paradiso concert with 3 very known great pianists (Yiruma, Yuhki Kuramoto and Steve Barakatt). The Olympic Park is HUGH, and its so great for strolling around, and its cute rabbitts everywhere. So if you ever are in Seoul and wanna see a awesome park or wanna go picnic, go to Olympic Park.
I meet up with Seul Gi some hours before the concert so we could walk around the park just relaxing and enjoying our day together. The weather was very cloudy and some cold, so I was alittle worried of rain, because the concert was outside in the park. But, It didnt rain, so we were lucky!

Before the concert started. The concert started at 7PM, but it became dark outside after a short time after we sat down. And it was so beautiful sitting in the dark, with the pretty lighted scene and piano music.

Under the concert. Picture of Yiruma talking.  I must admit I almost died of cold, I was wearing a dress, bad choice I know. But the music was so pretty I forgot all about being cold most of the time. Many of the songs brought a tear to my eye.

63 buildning

I went on date to the 63 buildning together with Seul gi. Logically its a buildning with 63 floors. We went there quite late, after school. So we meet up around 6PM.
But because we arrived around 7PM to the subway station closest to the buildning and thats around dinnertime so we went to eat dinner first. We chose a vietnamese restaurant. And the food was simple, but very good!  Would go there again sometime.

After walking around for a long time after we ate dinner, we got totally lost. I mean, how hard can it be, just look for a tall buildning, right? But no, we didnt find it. So we took taxi there. Fail.

BUT. "We" found it at last (or the taxidriver did). The 63 buildning had alot of different things like cinema, aquarium, wax museum. But our mission was going to the 63rd floor. So for going to the top floor, must buy a ticket to take the elevator. The elevator is outside of the buildning so can see the view while going all the way to the top.

Because we came late the view was amazing! Seeing whole Seoul when its dark outside its so pretty. Its very perfect for dates, so If you ever wanna take your loved-one to somewhere with a beautiful view, go here at night. Where I took this picture the floor was made out of glass, so could see all the way down, cool right? It was very fun watching japanese girls scream as they realised they were standing on glassfloor.

One of the hallways on the top of the buildning. Not only does it have awesome view, but also art gallery for people to look at. So we spent some hours just being amazed by the view, and looking at art.

Pictures taken in the coffeeshop where we sat for a while taking and watching cars looking like toycars from our view.

So my conclusion after being to the 63 buildning is = I wanna live in an apartment with view like this.

Other random pictures:

In the shopping center near my School. This picture is from first time I went there. Together with Robert and Grace in my class. Didnt buy anything. But Robert was kind to show us around our school area.

My favorite food market around my place. Its very asian. Just a big tent-like market. But they got everything needed for cooking.

In Myongdong with Grace. Went there together to buy ourself fall jackets, because the weather is getting colder these days. Ended up buying a cream/pink/peach-ish color parka jacket from Forever 21. And I also needed new shoes, I only got summer shoes, like balleria shoes. So I bought a pair of this seasons converse shoes. Pink of course!

And oh, as you see in this picture and the other one me and Grace ate at a indian restaurant when we were in Myongdong. Very great food indeed!

But my best buy was these slippers. Seriously Ive been longing for buying slippers since I came to korea. When I go to the kitchen etc to get water, if I walk in my socks my socks become dirty on my way to the kitchen and back. And my feet are freezing in my room also if i dont have socks on. And I dont have many pair of socks, so walking without is somthing I do often.

Well...Thats it, Now I really need to sleep. Goodnight
