Eyelash extension in Myeongdong

One of the big beauty secrets in Korea during the long humid summer is eyelash extensions. When its 90% humidity in the air its hard to keep makeup looking nice during the whole day.  For many girls this is an annoying problem, spending time applying makeup, then go outside and all makeup is gone with sweat in one hour.  One way to at least looking a little fresh and somewhat human is with fake eyelashes. Finding eyelash and nail shops in Seoul is extremly easy, its almost located on every house corner in shopping districts like Myeongdong and Ewha, and even better, its not expensive.

Ever since I came to Korea I've been wanting to try out eyelash extensions, but always been unsure if I should spend money on it or not. But last month I had no mascara left, and getting fake long pretty eyelashes cost the same as buying a new mascara. So why not?

I went to Myeongdong to get mine done. I have seen so many beauty salons there that offer cheap eyelash extensions for tourist, and most of them can speak somewhat okay english.

I found this place after walking for a while. All their information was in Japanese, I guess they have many guest from Japan wanting to get their nails and lashes fixed while on a vacation in Korea, therefor I have no clue what its named when I can't read Japanese.
Inside was very girly and everything pink, one of the reasons why I chose to go there. I love pink as most already know by now.

The female who owned the place could speak well english so I didn't have to worry about any langauge missunderstandings while fixing my lashed. I could decide how many lashes I wanted and how long lashes, I went for the full option, with as much lashes as my eyelids can have. I always use fake lashes anyway, so I don't want anything that is too natural.

Applying the lashes took one hour, and it was very peaceful just laying there while listning to music and closing my eyes.

This is my eye before lashes. My lashes have no color what so ever, so without mascara I look very tierd.

And now for the after pictures:

As you see the lashes are very long. I only did upper lashes, lower lashes is mascara.
Im very happy and I dont regret money spent on looking good when waking up in the morning. I've had it for one month now, and it still looks okay. Some lashes have fell off, but many are still left. I think I will do it once more before my semester start in September.

There are only few things about having lashes I don't like. One of the things that I really don't like is that I can't use eyeliner together with lashes, because it can me them fall off. And when using eyeshadow its hard to remove makeup without ripping off an eyelash at the same time. I also have to be careful not rubbing my eyes, and I sometimes wake up with eyelash on my face somewhere (getting them in the eye hurts!). So if you are addicted to eyeliner as I am think twice before getting extensions.

But if you do want to get it, I paid only 30,000 won and its been lasting for one month already, so its totally worth the price. If you can't speak Korean go to Myeongdong where all the tourists are shopping, most places can speak a little english.

Have a nice August! ^-^
